Clippers Women's Basketball Defeated at Bloomfield; Rosalbo Nets Career-High 23 Points

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Concordia Clippers women's basketball team visited Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division showdown on Thursday evening. Sophomore Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) would score a career-high 23 points to lead Concordia but it would not be enough as the Bears captured a 61-45 win.

The Clippers began the first half by jumping out to the early 6-0 lead as Concordia did not allow a field goal until the 13:35 mark. Bloomfield would use an 8-0 run to take their first lead of the evening at 12-10 with just over 11 minutes to play in the period.

Later in the half the Bears scored 14 unanswered points to take a 28-14 lead with five minutes remaining on the clock. The Clippers would break a 4:11 scoring drought after a layup by senior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) and ended the half on a 5-0 run to go into the locker room trailing 34-23.

In the second half Concordia would cut their deficit to single digits at the 14:01 mark after a layup by junior Khadijah Donaldson (Valley Stream, N.Y.) brought the score to 40-31. Bloomfield would proceed to open up a sizable advantage as a 14-4 run would give the home team a 54-35 lead with 7:15 to go in regulation. The Clippers could not mount a late comeback as the Bears would secure a 61-45 victory at the Bloomfield College Gym.

Rosalbo's career-best 23 points came on a 9-of-19 shooting performance from the field while also shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the foul line. Donaldson came off the bench to score 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting as Concordia did not score a three-point basket for the second time in the past three games.

As a team the Clippers and the Bears both shot 37.3% from the field while Bloomfield held a 41-35 rebounding advantage. Concordia was out-scored 38-18 in the paint as the team recorded only five assists in the game.
