Concordia Falls at CACC Foe Dominican, 63-50

Orangeburg, N.Y. – The Clippers women's basketball team took on Dominican (N.Y.) College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup at the Hennessy Center on Wednesday evening. The game marked the second and final regular season meeting between the two teams as the Chargers would take a 63-50 victory and sweep the season series against Concordia.

The Clippers began the game with a 5-2 lead as Dominican would score 10 unanswered points to open up a seven point advantage. Concordia would battle back and took a 17-17 lead with 10:39 left in the half following a three-point basket by junior Victoria Jones (Staten Island, N.Y.). The Chargers would regain the lead and end the half on a 9-0 run to go into the locker room with a 35-22 advantage.

Dominican would begin the second half on a 10-3 run to grab their largest lead of the game at 20-points, 45-25. The Clippers would cut their deficit to 15 with 8:51 remaining but were then held scoreless for the next 5:14 seconds. Despite outscoring the Chargers in the final minutes of the game Concordia was unable to capture the victory as Dominican took a 63-50 win, their ninth win of the season.

Senior Krystina Agard (Queens, N.Y.) led the Clippers with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field while also adding seven rebounds. Senior Sade Jones (Patterson, N.J.) added 15 points and five rebounds while sophomore Mariah Berry (Southington, Conn.) recorded seven points and a season-high 11 rebounds off the bench. Concordia were out-shot the Chargers, 18-of-53 (34.0%) to 19-of-66 (28.8%) but committed 21 turnovers in the game. The Clippers have now lost 11 straight games against Dominican as their last victory against the Chargers came during the 1997-98 season.

Concordia (2-14, 1-7 CACC) will return home for their first game at the Meyer Athletic Center since November 30th. The Clippers will host the Nyack Warriors for their second meeting of the season on Saturday with tip off set for 1pm.
