Waterbury, Conn. – The Concordia women's basketball team traveled to face Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Post University on Tuesday evening. The Clippers would drop their fifth game of the season after the Eagles took a 70-59 victory at the Drubner Center.
Concordia jumped out to an early 12-7 advantage as Post would take the lead at the 12:48 mark following a three-point basket. The Eagles would score nine unanswered points to grab a double digit lead with 7:31 left in the first half. The Clippers would cut the deficit to only five at halftime as Post went into the locker room with a 29-24 lead.
With 15:51 remaining in the second half Concordia got within two points of tying but the Eagles would extend their lead following a 10-2 run to take a 46-36 lead with only 12:55 to go. The Clippers would make a run at Post, scoring eight unanswered points to get within two points again but the Eagles would respond with a 14-2 run to put the game away for good.
Senior Krystina Agard (Queens, N.Y.) led Concordia with 17 points and six rebounds while adding two steals, a block and an assist. Agard also converted 13-of-13 on her foul shots. Senior Sade Jones (Patterson, N.J.) added 15 points and five rebounds while junior Victoria Jones (Staten Island, N.Y.) chipped in with a season-high 14 points. Post held a 43-36 advantage in rebounds which included a 22-12 edge in offensive rebounds.
The Clippers (0-5, 0-2 CACC) will have a few days off to prepare for their next game against Virginia Union. Concordia's game will kick off East Stroudsburg's 48th Annual ESU Classic at 3pm this Saturday, Nov. 24th. Fans unable to attend can follow the action via the Live Stats link on ConcordiaClippers.com.
