The Clippers Women's Basketball team hosted the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning in a CACC cross-divisional show down. The Clippers and the Lightning opened the game with a back and forth battle through the first ten minutes of the game. With each answering the others baskets, the Lighting were the first to pull away but it wasn't far enough. The Clippers moved forward and the tied the game up once more. After twenty minutes of play, ten lead changes and having the game tied at six other points the Clippers were trialing by just two points at the half; 32-30.
The Clippers continued their battle on the court with the Lightning through much of the second half. The Clippers then took the lead with 6:23 left on the clock. As the Clippers slowly extended their lead the Lightning kept battling to regain the back and forth battle from before. The Clippers pushed forward holding the Lightning off though their lead wasn't large. At the end of the second half the Clippers were on top and collected their first CACC win of the season with a 76-72 win.
The Clippers will continued their home stand as they host the Caldwell College Cougars on Monday, January 10th at 5:00pm.
