Dobbs Ferry, NY - Eggink puts up double-double but not enough to take down Mercy
The Concordia College Women's Basketball team headed to non-conference foe Mercy College. The Lady Clippers started off strong going up 7-0 to start the game. The Mercy College Mavericks came back into the game but the Clippers didn't let them get far. The Clippers regained their lead with the help of Shelley Monahan knocking down shots. The Mavericks pushed back and over came their deficit and attacked taking the lead by the end of the first half, 37-30.
Though the Clippers found themselves down to start the second half they pushed back to reclaim the lead but the Mavericks were not going to let them back to far. The Clippers were able to close the gap to one but then found themselves struggling and they fell further behind. The Clippers fell to Mercy 81-70.
Amanda Eggink led for the Clippers with a double-double of 13 points and 15 rebounds. Shelley Monahan put up 16 points while Gianna Zonghetti matched it with 16 points and added 9 rebounds. Dana Rommel also hit double digits with 12 points on the day.
The Clippers will take a week off as they prepare for the American International College Classic in Massachusetts on December 29th and 30th.
