Clippers face tough course at Philadelphia Metro
The Clippers women's cross-country team faced a tough course as they raced at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia for the 31st Annual Philadelphia Metro Small College Championship. For the first time on the course the Clippers finished 20th overall as a team.
Liz Garcia led the Clippers with a 26:34 course time coming in first for the team. Yodit Gemeda continued to show as she came in second for the Clippers with a 28:16 course run.
First time cross-country runner Jennifer Stefankiewicz finished
third for the Clippers on the very hilled course coming in with a
time of 29:46. Kenisha Masters finished fourth for the team
as she posted a 31:18 time.
Kelly Soares, another new comer, finished up with a 35:29 5k time for the Clippers. Rounding out the Clippers were Rita Boateng, Leana Mohabir and Gabriella Wieczorek coming in back to back to back with times of 40:23, 40:55, and 40:57 respectively.
The Clippers will face the Belmont Plateau course two more times including next Saturday, October 2nd for the Belmont Classic.
