Clippers finish out season with win over Georgian Court
The Clippers hosted the Georgian Court University Lions today to finish out their 2010 season. The Clippers made their presence known from the beginning as they dominated with an opening few points. The Lions struggled as the Clippers went on several service runs including ones by Hillary Hoffman and Alicia Vogel. The Clippers stayed ahead of the Lions throughout the first set and finished it off with a Juliann Gillespie kill.

Clippers get bitten by Cougars
The Clippers hosted the Caldwell College Cougars in a CACC match-up tonight. The Clippers started the first set well as they went back and forth for the first few points. The Cougars then took a 5-1 scoring run and took the lead. The Clippers tried to catch up and with a scoring run lead by the service run of Irina Impellitiere the Clippers tied the game up at 16-16. The Cougars then roared back at the Clippers and went on a 9-3 run to take the set.

Clippers defeated by Pacesetters
The Clippers volleyball team finished their four game road trip as they faced off at Pace University. The Clippers struggled from the beginning as they found themselves down 9-7. The Pace University Pacesetters then went on a 14-2 run to control the set. The Clippers then started to climb back but Pace took the set 25-13 before the Clippers could make any more progress.

The Clippers headed to Philadelphia to face off against the Chestnut Hill College Griffins. The Clippers went back and forth to open the match with the Griffins. With a couple of kills from Irina Impellitiere the Clippers broke free and took the early lead in the first set. The Griffins stayed close to the Clippers through the set but a kill from Chelsea Zurcher closed out the set for the Clippers 25-20.

The Clippers headed to face off against the Queens College Knights in non-conference volleyball action. The Clippers went to battle straight off with the Knights as they kept themselves close. The Knights made the first big break running off 10 points while the Clippers could only grab six. The Clippers dropped the first set 25-20.

Clippers fall in tight match with Bloomfield
The Clippers volleyball team headed to New Jersey to face off with the Bloomfield College Deacons for the second time this season. The Deacons took the early lead over the Clippers but the Clippers immediately turned it around and fought back to tie the game up at 10-10. The Clippers then took the lead as Olivia Thompson went back to serve. As the Deacons started to come back, the Clippers held on and were able to bring the score to 24-20. The Deacons then went on a quick six point run and stole the game out from underneath the Clippers.

The Clippers hosted the Dominican College Chargers to start the second half of the season. The Clippers and the Chargers went to battle to start the first set. As both teams went back and forth with each taking a one point lead at times it was the Chargers that broke free first and took the 16-13 lead. The Clippers tried to stay close by the Chargers closed out the first set 25-18.

The Clippers headed up to Connecticut for a non-conference face-off against the Southern Connecticut State University Owls. The Clippers started off their match down 7-1 against the Owls. With a short service run from Amanda Margedant, including two aces, the Clippers cut their short deficit even shorter. The Clippers continued to move up but the Owls kept them at bay and took the first seet 25-18.

The Clippers faced off against the current number one in the CACC, Caldwell College tonight. The Cougars of Caldwell took the early lead over the Clippers. The Clippers chipped their way back into the game with the help of a couple of service aces by Amanda Margedant and one by Irina Impellitiere. The Clippers then continued to climb back and took a small lead over the Cougars 14-12. As the Clippers stayed one point ahead, the Cougars tried to find ways around. Brittany Chappas helped push the Clippers to a 21-18 lead but the Cougars struck and overtook the game to grab set one 25-22.

The Clippers faced off with the Golden Falcons of Felician College. The Clippers started off the match with an eight point service run by Hillary Hoffman. The Golden Falcons started to come back but the Clippers held them at bay. As the Clippers inched closer to 25 the Golden Falcons halted them just short with the score 24 Clippers 21 Golden Falcons. The Golden Falcons then ran off a small string of tough serves and tied the game up. A few points later the Clippers saw themselves down 1-0 in the match.

Clippers grab second win of season as they strike down the Lightning
The Clippers hosted the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning today as they squared off on the volleyball court. With set one under way the Clippers took an early lead of 10-6 over the Lightning. The Lightning then pushed back and with a few tough serves ties the game up. The Clippers regained their composure and stepped up taking the lead once again. As the Clippers were just one point away from the set, a few unfortunate errors came across and the Lightning tied the set up once again. With two Lightning errors the Clippers captured the first set.

The Clippers headed to Connecticut earlier this evening for a CACC showdown with the Eagles of Post University. The first set saw the Clippers take the early lead. As the Clippers held onto their lead of six the Eagles started to come back and cut the Clipper lead down to two. With another push, the Clippers continued to lead and took set one 25-23.

The Warriors went ahead quickly 10-6 as the Clippers struggled to get things moving. The Clippers hosted the Philadelphia University Rams today in a CACC match-up. The Clippers started the match off slow as they found themselves quickly down 7-2 to start off set number one. As the Clippers picked up their game they started to close the gap. With small service runs from Irina Impellitiere and Hillary Hoffman the Clippers closed their deficit to 15-16. The Clippers tried to fight the Rams off but they inched closer and took the first set 25-20.

The Clippers hosted the Bloomfield College Deacons in their home opener. The Clippers kicked off their match as they went up 2-0. The Deacons kept the game close but after a 7 point service game from freshman Brittany Chappas to put the Clippers up by 16-8. As the Clippers inched closer to the end of the first set they kept their comfortable lead and with a kill from Olivia Thompson the Clippers captured the first set.

The Clippers opened up their 2010 CACC run as they headed to face the Dominican College Chargers. The Clippers working hard in the first set against the Chargers soon found themselves down 4-9. With a kill by Juliann Gillespie the Clippers started to move back up.

Clippers fall to Molloy in season opener
The Clippers Volleyball team headed to Molloy College to open their 2010 season. With new faces hitting the floor with the returners the opening set showed the teams nerves. The first few points the Clippers went toe-to-toe with the Molloy Lions. With the Clippers down 9-6 the Lions went on a six point run. A few smaller runs from the Lions and some nervous errors by the Clippers the first set finished with the Clippers down.

Concordia 2010-2011 Womans Volleyball "The Future is Now"
Just one year ago the Concordia Volleyball team suffered its worst season ever. We couldnt finish the year due to injury and a lack of numbers. I guarantee that wont happen this season. And to speak to Coach Patrick Dietz, coming into his second year as head coach of the Clippers, you would think that the team assembling this year can and could quite possibly win the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Womans Volleyball Championship this fall. Im not saying we will win it, but were out right better than we were last season.
