Bronxville, NY – Clippers fall to Griffins in fifth set The Clippers hosted the Chestnut Hill College Griffins in their last home game of the season. The Clippers and the Griffins battled back and forth for the lead in the first set. The Clippers were the first to pull away with a small lead that would sustain them for the first set. With a kill by Olivia Thompson the Clippers took set one 25-22.

Caldwell, NJ – Clippers fall hard to Cougars The Clippers traveled to Caldwell College tonight for the second half of the season series between the two teams. The Caldwell College Cougars dominated the first set as the Clippers, only playing with six, struggled to stay on serve. The Cougars took set one 25-9.

Bronxville, NY – Clippers get first win of season and CACC The Clippers hosted the Felician College Golden Falcons tonight in a CACC match-up. The last time the Clippers and the Golden Falcons met up was back in September as the Golden Falcons defeated the Clippers in three. Tonight would be a different ball game entirely.

Bronxville, NY – Byrd digs 25 but Clippers fall 3-1 to Wildcats The Clippers hosted the Wilmington University Wildcats today in a CACC match-up. The Clippers struggled in the first set under the Wildcat serve. Falling quickly behind the Clippers tried to catch up but errors plagued them and the Clippers fell 25-10.

Waterbury, CT – Clippers sink under Eagles wings The Clippers faced off with the Post University Eagles last night. The Clippers went toe to toe with the Eagles in the first set. Each team had seven kills in the set. The Clippers and Eagles were neck in neck but the Eagles just edged the Clippers out to take the first set.

Nyack, NY – Thompson leads with 9 kills but Clippers fall to Warriors The Clippers women’s volleyball team headed to do battle with the Nyack College Warriors. The Clippers looked to even the season series out with the match-up. The Warriors took the early lead in the first set. The Clippers worked to climb back under the service of Courtney Hanson but came up just short in the first set.

Bronxville, NY – Clippers push the boundaries in tough match against the Devils The Clippers hosted the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia Devils in a CACC match-up. The Devils took the early lead but thanks to the serving of Chelsea Zurcher the Clippers took the lead back. The set was then a back and forth battle with each team taking their leads and then losing them. The Devils were looking at set one with a five point lead but the serving talents of Dana St. Cyr were able to come back and take a one point lead over the Devils. Both teams worked hard and match pushed on. The Devils were able to get a kill to take set one 34-32.

Bronxville, NY – Deacons take season series from Clippers The Clippers volleyball team were visited by the Bloomfield College Deacons in the second half of the season series. The Deacons took the early lead in the first set and did not look back. The service game from the Deacons was too strong as the Clippers attempted to get back into the game. The Deacons took the first set 25-12.

Orangeburg, NY – Clippers get charged by Dominican The Clippers women’s volleyball team headed for the second and last bout with Dominican College for the season. With Dominican taking the first match-up the Clippers looked to even it out. With the first set, the Clippers tried to work back but the Chargers would not let the Clippers attack hit the floor. The Clippers dropped the first set 25-14.

The Clippers started off in the first set with the early lead. As the Clippers continued to stay ahead the Cougars slowly moved in to stake their claim. The Cougars then started to the Clippers momentum down. The Clippers unfortunately fell in the first set 25-14.

The Golden Falcons of Felician took an early lead in the first set but the Clippers slowly but surely climbed their way back into the game. The Clippers however couldn’t cut the lead the Golden Falcons held and dropped the first set 25-20.

Wilmington, DE – Clippers sink in four against the Lightning strike The Concordia College women’s volleyball team traveled to Wilmington, Delaware to face off against Goldey-Beacom College. The Clippers still looking for their first win of the season worked hard in the first set. The Clippers found their offense often and early and out attacked the Lightning as they produced 14 kills to the Lightning’s 6 in the set. The Clippers took set number one 25-20 over the Lightning.

Bronxville, NY – Clippers fall in four to Post University The Clippers hosted Post University tonight in another CACC bout. The Clippers, showing a new rotation, struggled during the first set trying to get the rotation to meld together. Unfortunately Post stole the first set 25-11. With the second set, the Clippers new rotation gelled and the Clippers went on a roll. Serving the ball well, attacking the court and fighting for every ball. The Clipper pushed hard and won their first set 25-17.

The Clippers did work their way back into the first set but couldn’t push past the tough service game of Nyack. The Clippers dropped the first set 25-14.

CALDWELL AND GEORGIAN COURT SELECTED FIRST IN CACC PRESEASON VOLLEYBALL POLL
NEW HAVEN, CT – Caldwell College and Georgian Court University have been selected to win their respective divisions as the 2009 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) volleyball preseason poll was released today. Caldwell garnered 10 first place votes to top the North Division poll, while Georgian Court was voted first in the South after picking up nine first place nods. The 14 head coaches conducted the voting.
