Bronxville, NY - Byrd digs 25 but Clippers fall 3-1 to Wildcats
The Clippers hosted the Wilmington University Wildcats today in
a CACC match-up. The Clippers struggled in the first set
under the Wildcat serve. Falling quickly behind the Clippers
tried to catch up but errors plagued them and the Clippers fell
25-10.
The second set saw the Clippers turn their misfortune around and
take the early lead under the service run of Amanda
Margedant. With the Clippers up 11-5 and continuing to play
well the Wildcats started to waiver. The Wildcats cut the
Clipper lead down to two points late in the set. The Clippers
finished out the set with a three point victory thanks to the
attack by Courtney Hanson who had 12 kills for the match.
Set three was an unfortunate repeat of set one as the Clippers struggled once again against the Wildcats serve. The Wildcats took set three 25-10.
The fourth set was a back and forth set between the Clippers and the Wildcats. The Wildcats were the first to take a lead and stretch it out. The Clippers worked to cut that lead but could not cut it all the way back. The Wildcats took set four and the match.
Amanda Byrd led defensively for the Clippers with 25 digs.
Amanda Margedant had another double-double with 21 set assists and
16 digs.
The Clippers will face Felician College on Tuesday, October 27th at 7:00pm in the Meyer Athletic Center.
