Bronxville, NY - Clippers drop hard fought match against Nyack College

The Clippers hosted Nyack College in a CACC match-up.  The Clippers got off to a rocky start as Nyack took to an early lead.  The Clippers did work their way back into the first set but couldn't push past the tough service game of Nyack.  The Clippers dropped the first set 25-14. 

The Clippers refocused and started the second set with an early lead.  The Clippers tried to push it further but were stopped by Nyack.  Nyack controlled the rest of the game with the service game and their offensive plays.  Nyack took set two 25-13.

Set three saw the Clippers fall quickly behind.  The Clippers then came together and  worked their way back into the third set.  With match point on the line Nyack's server missed her serve.  The Clippers worked under the service game of Amanda Margadent to climb to 18 points before a net violation ended the match. 

Amanda Margadent led the Clippers with 13 assists, 5 digs and 3 service aces.  Courtney Hanson produced 4 kills for the Clippers while Amanda Byrd had 7 digs. 

The Clippers will host Post University to kick off homecoming weekend this Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7:00pm.
