Clippers Fall to Deacons 3-1
Bloomfield, NJ - The Concordia College volleyball team lost a 3-1 decision to the Deacons of Bloomfield College last night in Bloomfield, NJ. Game scores were 20-25, 15-25, 25-21 and 16-25.
Freshman Juliann Gillespie (Clarkston, MI) led the charge for Concordia with 9 kills. Classmate Amanda Margedant (La Habra Heights, CA) finished with 7 kills and 18 digs. Sophomore Amanda Byrd (Clarkston, MI) led the defense with a match high 20 digs.
For Bloomfield, Urequenia Pereira totaled 14 kills and 9 digs, while Jussara Oliviera tallied 10 kills and 6 digs.
The Clippers fall to 1-5 on the season. Bloomfield picks up their first win and improves to 1-2 on the year.
Concordia will be back in action on Saturday, September 6th, as they travel to Nyack, NY to face the Nyack College Warriors in a non-conference match-up. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.
