Pioneers Pound Clippers 3-0
Brookville, NY - The Concordia College volleyball team was defeated by the Pioneers of C.W. Post 3-0 last night at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville, NY. Scores were 10-25, 16-25, 17-25.
Freshman Juliann Gillespie (Clarkston, MI) paced the Clippers with 5 kills and 4 digs. Freshman Amanda Margedant (La Habra Heights, CA) chipped in 4 kills and a team high 6 digs. Freshman setter Jaymee Wise (Irvine, CA) had 13 assists and 3 kills for the match.
For the Pioneers, Laura Maehlmann finished with 7 kills and 5 service aces. Sammy Figliolia and Kerri Heitner each added 6 kills. Lucia Krskova tallied 12 assists and 5 kills, while Erica Valeriano chipped in 5 assists, 4 service aces and 6 digs.
The loss drops the Clippers to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in the East Coast Conference. C.W. Post improves to 5-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Concordia will return to the Meyer Athletic Center on Thursday, September 18th to face the Knights of Queens College in ECC play. The action will start at 7:00 PM.
