Clippers Fall to Lions 3-0

Rockville Centre, NY - The Concordia College volleyball team lost a 3-set match to the Lions of Molloy College last night at Quealy Gymnasium in Rockville Centre, NY. The scores of the 3 sets were 20-25, 20-25, 17-25.

The Clippers were led by freshman outside hitters Amanda Margedant (La Habra Heights, CA) and Juliann Gillespie (Clarkston, MI), who pounded down a team high 9 kills apiece. Margedant also finished with 17 digs, 4 assists and a service ace. Freshman setter Jaymee Wise (Irvine, CA) collected 20 assists to go along with 9 digs, 4 kills and 2 service aces. Senior Radayza Montas (Bronx, NY) added a season high 5 service aces. Sophomore Amanda Byrd (Clarkston, MI) led the defense with a match high 20 digs, 2 short of her season high.

For the Lions, Angelica Nicalek posted a match high 14 kills and had 9 digs. Meaghan Meyer and Arielle Wichard each finished with 6 kills. Defensively for Molloy, Danielle Sekesan and Monika Rodziewicz finished with 15 digs and 11 digs, respectively. Kristen Sklarsky ran the offense and dished out 27 assists.

The Clippers lose their 10th straight match and fall to 2-15 overall and 0-9 in the East Coast Conference. The Lions improve to 6-13 on the season and 3-6 in conference play.

The Clippers will travel to Oakdale, NY on Tuesday, October 14th to take on the defending ECC champions, the Dowling College Golden Lions for an ECC battle. The match will begin at 7:00 PM.
