Panthers Claw Clippers 3-1
Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College volleyball team lost 3-1 to the Adelphi University Panthers this past Thursday at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. Scores of the 4-set match were 21-25, 10-25, 25-22 and 12-25. Concordia falls to 2-23 overall and 0-14 in the East Coast Conference, while the Panthers improve to 23-9 on the season and 10-4 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers were led by freshman Juliann Gillespie (Clarkston, MI), who had 7 kills and 12 digs. Amanda Margedant (La Habra Heights, CA) and Alicia Oberle (Savannah, GA) each finished with 6 kills. Margedant also had a team high 16 digs. Freshman setter Jaymee Wise (Irvine, CA) collected 16 assists, 14 digs, 5 service aces and 4 kills.
Adelphi was led by Samantha Johnston's match high 16 kills and 13 digs. Audrey Goss pounded down 10 kills. Amy Williams led the defense with a match high 17 digs and Heather Mau registered 36 assists for the Panthers.
The Clippers will continue ECC action on Tuesday, November 4th, as they travel to Bridgeport, CT to tangle with the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport. The match begins at 7:00 PM.
