Purple Knights Slay Clippers 3-0
Bronxville, NY - Freshman Amanda Margedant (La Habra Heights, CA) finished with a team high 11 kills and 12 digs in a 3-0 loss to the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights last night at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. Margedant also had 3 service aces. Freshman Juliann Gillespie (Clarkston, MI) chipped in 7 kills and 6 digs, while freshman Alicia Oberle (Savannah, GA) contributed 4 kills. Freshman setter Jaymee Wise (Irvine, CA) dished out 20 assists to go along with 5 kills and 7 digs.
For the Purple Knights, Ivana Kovacevic-Jurasin pounded down 11 kills and Juliana Moraes had 10 kills and 7 digs. Yael Cohen ran the offense for Bridgeport, finishing with 27 assists while JJ Edwards anchored the defense with 16 digs.
The Clippers have dropped 8 straight matches and fall to 2-13 overall and 0-7 in the East Coast Conference. Bridgeport improves to 12-8 on the season and 5-2 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers will look to get on track this coming Tuesday, October 7th, as they host the Bears of the New York Institute of Technology at the Meyer Athletic Center. The action begins at 7:00 PM.
