Knights Outduel Clippers 3-0
Flushing, NY - The Concordia College volleyball team was defeated by the Queens College Knights 3-0 last night at Fitzgerald Gymnasium in Flushing, NY. Scores were 14-25, 14-25 and 18-25.
Freshman Alicia Oberle (Savannah, GA) led Concordia with 6 kills and also had 6 digs. Freshman Amanda Margedant (La Habra Heights, CA) finished with 5 kills and 3 digs while sophomore Amanda Byrd (Clarkston, MI) collected 3 kills and a team high 7 digs. Senior Radayza Montas (Bronx, NY) added 4 service aces and a solo block for Concordia and freshman setter Jaymee Wise (Irvine, CA) had 3 service aces and 17 assists.
The Knights were led by middle blockers Enobong Shammah and Natalie Edward, who collected 17 kills and 14 kills, respectively. Antonia Klein dished out 35 assists and Latoya Edward had a match high 11 digs.
The loss drops the Clippers to 2-20 overall and 0-12 in the East Coast Conference. The Knights improve to 19-6 overall and 8-3 in the East Coast Conference.
Concordia will step out of ECC action on Thursday, October 23rd to face the Golden Knights of the College of Saint Rose at the Meyer Athletic Center. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.
