Golden Lions Too Much for Clippers
Oakdale, NY - The Concordia College volleyball team was defeated by the Golden Lions of Dowling College 3-0 last night at Golden Lion's Court in Oakdale, NY. Scores were 9-25, 5-25, 11-25. The loss drops the Clippers to 2-16 overall and 0-10 in the East Coast Conference. Dowling improves to 22-4 overall and 10-0 in the conference.
Freshman Amanda Margedant (La Habra Heights, CA) led Concordia with 4 kills and 5 digs. Freshman Alicia Oberle (Savannah, GA) and sophomore Amanda Byrd (Clarkston, MI) each finished with 2 kills.
The Golden Lions were led by Marina Markovic, who tallied 11 kills and Kelly Scott, who finished with 10 kills. Libero Jessica Gall anchored the defense with a match high 8 digs.
Concordia will return to the Meyer Athletic Center on Thursday, October 16th to face the Pioneers of C.W. Post in an ECC contest. The match will begin at 7:00 PM.
