Volleyball Comes From Behind to Defeat Rams 3-2

Bronxville, NY - Freshman Maddy Lorenz (Spokane, WA) pounded down 24 kills to help the Clippers defeat the Philadelphia University Rams 3-2 Saturday at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. Lorenz also finished with 11 digs, 2 assists and 2 service aces. Senior Tiffany Edwards (Baytown, TX) hammered 18 kills and also finished with 13 digs, 4 assists and 2 service aces. Junior Shashawna Ball (San Jose, CA) tied a season high with 12 kills and chipped in 6 digs. Setter Shannon Flaherty (Spokane, WA) also finished with a season high, as the senior amassed 60 assists on the afternoon. Freshman libero Amanda Byrd (Clarkston, MI) totaled a team high 18 digs for the match.

 

For the Rams, Emily Krauss led the offensive charge with 16 kills and 20 digs. Celena Rendon finished with a double-double, totaling 10 kills and 14 digs. Setter Lauren Hoover totaled 39 assists for the match and Cassandra Peck finished with 20 digs.

The win improves the Clippers record to 8-5 overall. The Rams fall to 9-9 overall.

Concordia will return to the Meyer Athletic Center on Tuesday, September 25th, as they host the Bears of the New York Institute of Technology in ECC play. The first serve is set for 7:00 PM.
