Clippers Pick-Up Two Wins at U. Mass-Lowell

Lowell, MA - The Concordia College volleyball team picked up two win at the U. Mass-Lowell tri-match in Lowell, MA. Freshman outside hitter Maddy Lorenz (Spokane, WA) hammered down 30 kills in a thrilling 5 game victory over U. Mass-Lowell. Game scores were 24-30, 30-23, 30-20, 26-30 and 15-13. Senior opposite Tiffany Edwards (Baytown, TX) finished the match with 21 kills and 6 digs. Senior setter Shannon Flaherty (Spokane, WA) registered a double-double, with 56 assists and 11 digs. Freshman libero Amanda Byrd (Clarkston, MI) had a match high 27 digs.

 

In the Clippers first match of the day, Concordia escaped the first two games of the match by identical 32-30 scores before pulling out the win in the third game 30-18. Edwards had 12 kills and 12 digs and Lorenz finished with a match high 16 kills. Junior outside hitter Shashawna Ball (San Jose, CA) ended with 7 kills and 5 digs.

With the two wins, the Clippers improve to 2-3 on the season.

Concordia will open up the Meyer Athletic Center on Wednesday, September 5th, as they take on the Deacons of Bloomfield College. The action begins at 7:30 PM.
