Edwards and Lorenz Earn All-Conference Awards

Central Islip, NY - Senior Tiffany Edwards (Baytown, TX) and freshman Maddy Lorenz (Spokane, WA) were both selected to the East Coast Conference Volleyball Third Team, as voted upon by the conference coaches this week.

Edwards led the Clippers in hitting percentage at .227 and was 2nd on the team with 338 kills for the season. Edwards was 10th in the ECC in kills per game with 3.45 kpg. Edwards posted 12 double-doubles this season for the Clippers. The opposite hitter was named to the All-Tournament Team at the NVVA Welcome Home Tournament in Fairfax, VA in August and was voted ECC Player of the Week in October.

Lorenz led Concordia and was 2nd in the ECC in kills per game with 4.18 kpg. The 4.18 kpg also places her among the nations best at 49th place in the country. Lorenz is 4th in the ECC in points per game at 4.79 ppg. The freshman finished the season with 13 double-doubles and had double digit kills in 21 out of 26 matches. Lorenz was named ECC Rookie of the Week on four different occasions this season and was also voted to the NVVA Welcome Home All-Tournament Team this past August. Lorenz also joined the AVCA 30 Kill Club back on September 1st against UMass-Lowell (30 kills in a 5-game win).

The Clippers concluded the 2007 season with a 13-13 overall record and 2-7 in the East Coast Conference.
