Volleyball Drops Two in Puerto Rico
Mayaguez, Puerto Rico - The Concordia College volleyball team lost two matches while visiting Puerto Rico this past weekend. On Saturday, the Clippers lost to the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon 30-20, 30-28, 30-20. Senior opposite Tiffany Edwards (Baytown, TX) finished with a team high 12 kills and 4 digs. Freshman libero Amanda Byrd (Clarkston, MI) totaled 10 digs for the match.
On Sunday, Concordia dropped a 3-0 decision to the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. Game scores were 30-23, 30-17, 30-13. Senior middle blocker Cindy Eckard (Woodstock, VA) tied a season high with 7 kills and hit a season's best .455 (7 kills, 2 errors, 11 attempts) for the match. Byrd finished with a team high 14 digs and senior Amanda Westfall (Cedar City, UT) chipped in 10 digs.
With the losses, the Clippers record drops to 9-9 on the season.
Concordia will look to get back on the winning track on
Thursday, October 11th, as they host the Pioneers of C.W. Post at
the Meyer Athletic Center in ECC action. The game will begin at
7:00 PM.
