Volleyball Falls to Adelphi 3-0
Garden City, NY - Freshman Maddy Lorenz (Spokane, WA) posted a match high 14 kills, but it wasn't enough to stop the Panthers from defeating the Clippers 3-0 last night in Garden City, NY. Lorenz also had 8 digs, 2 service aces and 2 solo blocks. Senior Tiffany Edwards (Baytown, TX) finished with a double-double, registering 10 kills and 13 digs. Lorenz and Edwards are the current ECC Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, and both are in the top ten in the conference in kills per game. Senior Shannon Flaherty (Spokane, WA) ran the offense for Concordia, finishing with 32 assists and collecting 11 digs.
For the Panthers, Kathleen Carney had a team high 10 kills and Audrey Goss finished with 9 kills. Setter Brittany Addeo had 39 assists and 6 digs Amy Williams anchored the defense with a match high 14 digs for Adelphi.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 12-11 overall and 2-5 in the East Coast Conference. Adelphi improves to 22-5 overall and 5-2 in the East Coast Conference.
Concordia will travel to Oakdale, NY on Thursday, October 25th
to take on the defending ECC Champion, Dowling College Golden
Lions. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.
