Edwards and Lorenz Pace Clippers Past Felician 3-1
Rutherford, NJ - Senior Tiffany Edwards (Baytown, TX) and freshman Maddy Lorenz (Spokane, WA) each posted 22 kills to lead the Clippers past the Golden Falcons of Felician College 3-1 yesterday at Job Gymnasium in Rutherford, NJ. Senior Amanda Westfall (Cedar City, UT) posted a season high 17 kills for the match.
Concordia captured the first two games by scores of 30-24 and 30-26. Felician came back and won the third game 31-29 after taking the final 3 points of the game. The Clippers then closed out the fourth game 30-25.
Senior Cindy Eckard (Woodstock, VA) and junior Shashawna Ball (San Jose, CA) each finished with 8 kills. Senior setter Shannon Flaherty (Spokane, WA) had 64 assists for the game and freshman libero Amanda Byrd (Clarkston, MI) anchored the defense with a team high 21 digs.
For Felician College, Dee Dee Smith and Keisha Milstrey finished with 18 kills and 17 kills, respectively. Erica Moore had a match high 26 digs.
The win evens the Clippers record at 10-10 overall. The Golden Falcons fall to 3-16 overall.
The Clippers will travel to Dobbs Ferry, NY on Monday, October
15th to face the Mavericks of Mercy College in ECC action. First
serve is set for 7:00 PM.
