Bennett Named East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week

Freshman Kristina Bennett (Simi Valley, CA) was named East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office today. Bennet helped lead the Clippers to a 3-1 week and a spot in the upcoming East Coast Conference Women's Volleyball Tournament.

In two non-conference matches this past Saturday, the freshman dished out 59 assists, 20 digs and 10 kills in a 3-0 win over the University of Sciences in Philadelphia and a 3-0 loss to Philadelphia University. Bennett also steered the offense in two East Coast Conference victories over Mercy College (3-1) and Molloy College (3-0). For the week, Bennett has average 10 assists per game and almost 3 digs per game.

This was is second time this season that Bennett has been named Est Coast Conferece Rookie of the Week. Bennett shared the honor with Mercy College middle blocker Diana Bruzzone back on September 12, 2006.
