Concordia Wins Easily on the Road, 9-0 over Post
Waterbury, CT – The Concordia College Clippers women's tennis team traveled to face Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Post University Wednesday afternoon. The Clippers dominated the match as they won easily, 9-0.
Concordia only lost two games the entire match against the Eagles as they were nearly perfect on the day. In the #1 singles match, Yuliya Plevako (Astana, Kazakhstan) won 6-2, 6-0 in the only set the Eagles would score in. All of the other singles matches were won 6-0, 6-0 by the Clippers.
In doubles, Clara Catanzano (Sete, France) and Plevaco won 8-0 in the #1 doubles match. The #2 doubles duo of Ana S.O. Mendes (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) and Juliana Frey (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) won 8-0 as did the #3 doubles of Maria Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia) and Camilla Gomes Xavier (Belo Horizonte, Brazil).
Concordia (5-0, 5-0 CACC) will look to continue their undefeated record on Tuesday, October 11th as they host Chestnut Hill. The 2pm match will take place at the Meyers Tennis Center on the campus of Concordia College.
