Women's Tennis Ranked 1st in East Region and 27th in Country

The Clippers Women's Tennis Team, fresh off of their second consecutive CACC Championship, was recently ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). 

The Clippers were ranked 1st in the East Region topping regional foes Queens College NY (2nd) along with three other CACC schools; Goldey-Beacom College (5th), Holy Family University (7th), and Chestnut Hill College (8th).  On the national scale, the Clippers were ranked 27th in the Nation among Division II schools, and are the only CACC Women's Tennis team to be nationally ranked. 

On the individual rankings the Clippers boast two singles players and a doubles pair ranked in the East Region while, just one of the singles and the doubles pair make their mark on the National Rankings.

Ola Roberts, a senior from Bucharest, Romania, ranks 3rd in the region.  Roberts is also ranked 39th in Division II singles players.  Roberts came away with a 10-0 dual match singles record for the fall season.  As the CACC 2010 Player of the Year, Roberts is the highest ranked conference women's tennis player. 

Yuliya Plevako, a sophomor e from Astana, Kazakhstan, ranks 6th in the East Region.  Plevako finished the 2010 season with an 11-0 dual match singles record.  As part of the 2010 All-CACC Team, Plevako helped lead the Clippers to their second consecutive conference Championship. 

With both Roberts and Plevako ranked in singles, they have paired up through the season so far to rank as a doubles team on top of it all.  The Clipper pair are ranked 1st in the East Region and 9th in the National Rankings, making them the highest ranked doubels pair in the CACC.  The pair have collected eight dual match wins during the season along with the ITA East Regional Tournament Doubles Championship.  Roberts and Plevako finished 6th in the ITA National Tournament.
