Clippers defeat defending CACC Champions Philadelphia University 8-1

Bronxville, NY - Clippers defeat defending CACC Champions Philadelphia University 8-1

The Clippers opened their home stand today squaring off against Philadelphia University, the defending CACC Champions.  The Clippers started out their play with the three doubles matches.  Number one doubles team Christina Oliveira and Ola Roberts quickly took care of their opponent 8-1.  Maria Ortiz and Yuliya Plevako followed suit at #2 doubles with an 8-1 win.  Adeline Brennan and Camilla Xavier struggled at #3 doubles and unfortunately were defeated in a tie break. 

With the doubles section of the match complete the singles were the next to hit the court.  Ola Roberts, #1 singles faced off against the defending CACC singles champion from last year.  Roberts swiftly moved on the court and won 6-1; 6-1.  Christina Oliveira, #2 singles, would be just as quick defeating her opponent 6-0; 6-1.  Yuliya Plevako, #3 singles, followed the lead and won 6-1; 6-0.  Number four singles, Maria Ortiz, struggled at first dropping her opening set but came back to win the second set and the third set tie break.  Adeline Brennan, #5 singles, shrugged off her doubles loss and fought back on the court to defeat her opponent 6-0; 6-2.  Finishing out the Clippers win was #6 singles, Camilla Xavier winning 6-3; 6-0.

The Clippers continue their win streak at four in a row.  The women's tennis team will travel to Post University this Saturday.
