Women's Tennis Overpowers Molloy 9-0
Bronxville, NY - Sophomore Adeline Brennan (Toms River, NJ) and the Clippers women's tennis team defeated the Lions of Molloy College 9-0 yesterday at the Meyers Tennis Center in Bronxville, NY. Brennan teamed with senior Somadi Druker (Capetown, South Africa) at No. 1 doubles for a 8-0 win over Alexandra Bonventre and Angeline Asaro. The Clippers would finish the doubles portion of the match with a 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles by junior Cristina Oliveira (Porto Allegre, Brazil) and freshman Maria Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia) and an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles from senior Celise Sesanker (Scarborough, Trinidad & Tobago) and junior Tita Kiss (Stamford, CT).
Concordia dominated the singles portion of the match as well, only surrendering one game to the Lions at No. 6 singles, a 6-1, 6-0 win by Brennan.
The Clippers remain perfect at 2-0 on the season and in conference action. The Lions fall to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers will travel to Philadelphia, PA this weekend to compete in the ITA Regionals hosted by Chestnut Hill College.
