Clippers Dominate Pioneers 9-0
Brookville, NY - Senior Celise Sesanker (Scarborough, Trinidad & Tobago) recorded wins at No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles in the Clippers 9-0 victory over the Pioneers of C.W. Post yesterday in Brookville, NY. Sesanker defeated Aysylu Masdanova 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and teamed with Cristina Oliveira (Porto Allegre, Brazil) at No. 1 doubles for an 8-0 win over Rosemary Marugo and Chloe Przonek. Oliveira finished off Przonek 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Equally impressive in singles play was sophomore Adeline Brennan (Toms River, NJ), who downed Gena Bales 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and freshman Maria Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia) with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles over Colette Squillante.
The match was the season opener for both teams, as the Clippers open ECC play on a winning note to move to 1-0.
Concordia will be back in action on Thursday, September 18th, as they host the Lions of Molloy College at the Meyers Tennis Center. Action gets underway at 3:00 PM.
