Clippers Fall to Knights in Women's Tennis Finals 5-2
Flushing, NY - For the second consecutive year, the Knights of Queens College defeat the Clippers for the East Coast Conference Women's Tennis Championship, 5-2 in Flushing, NY.
Sophomore Somadi Druker (Capetown, South Africa) captured both singles and doubles wins. At #1 singles, Druker defeated Alyssa Morra 6-3, 6-0 and teamed with junior Celise Sesanker (Scarborough, Trinidad & Tobago) to capture #1 doubles 9-7. Those would be the only two wins for the Clippers. The Clipper tandem of Amy Boyd (Phoenix, AZ) and Adeline Brennan (Toms River, NJ) was defeated at #2 doubles 8-0 and Tita Kiss (Stamford, CT) and Sabrina Hager (Manchester, NJ) lost to Jen Merideth and Maria Perevezentseva 8-4 at #3 doubles.
In singles competition, the Knights captured #3, #4 and #6 singles, all in straight sets to take home the ECC Women's Tennis Championship for the second straight year.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 7-2 overall. The Knights improve to 10-1 overall.
The Clippers will compete in the East Coast Conference
Individual Flight Championships this Saturday and Sunday, October
13-14 at Queens College in Flushing, NY
