LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Concordia Clippers women's soccer team visited the Georgian Court Lions on Saturday for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. Concordia was unable to come away with the victory as Georgian Court took a 9-1 win.
In the first half both sides were held scoreless as freshman Kayla Lanza (New Milford, Conn.) would make eight saves in the first 45 minutes of play. The Clippers were unable to get off a shot in the half, but the two teams would remain tied at halftime.
The Lions scored their first goal of the game only 35 seconds into the second half. Georgian Court would increase their lead to 7-0 by the 68th minute as Concordia got on the scoreboard in the 76th minute. Junior Dayna Darcy (Plainedge, N.Y.) scored her first goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Sara Calvert (Apple Valley, Calif.) with a chip shot over the Lions' goalkeeper's head. Georgian Court would add two more goals as the Clippers fell 9-1. Lanza recorded a career-high 11 saves as the Lions held a 34-4 shot advantage.
