Concordia (N.Y.) Defeated By Goldey-Beacom, 6-1
Wilmington, Del. – The Concordia College (N.Y.) Clippers women's soccer team played at Goldey-Beacom this afternoon as they looked for their first conference win of the season. The Lightning would outshoot the Clippers and win by a margin of 6-1.
Goldey-Beacom's Alexandra Smith (Pennsville, N.J.) scored her first of four goals this afternoon at the 22nd minute. Smith would score the next goal five minutes later and then scored her hat-trick goal at the 34th minute; a span of 12 minutes had passed since her first goal.
At the beginning of the second half, Taylor Faunt (Pennsville, N.J.) would give the Lightning a 4-0 lead and Smith added her final goal of the day at the 55th minute.
Concordia's Iyesha Ollivierre (Trinidad & Tobago) scored the lone goal for the Clippers at the 82nd minute mark. Goalkeeper Jessica Nanan (Queens, N.Y.) made three saves in 90 minutes of play.
The Lighting outshot the Clippers 19-11 and held an edge in corner kick opportunities, 6-1. Goldey-Beacom recorded seven saves between their two goalkeepers.
Concordia (2-5, 0-4 CACC) will be back on the road again in their next game. The Clippers will travel to nearby Nyack College for a 4pm game on Wednesday, Sep. 21st.
