Bronxville, NY - Clippers come from behind for first home win
The Clippers opened up their home stand with a match against the Deacons of Bloomfield College. The Clippers conceded an early goal courtesy of Bloomfield's Christi Rutherford. The Clippers fought back with 12 shots in the half but were unable to capitalize. The Clippers went into the second period still trailing.
The Clippers fought to score a goal throughout the second half even
with 12 shots. With late pressure from the Clippers on the
Deacons the Clippers found their opportunity. They were
rewarded when freshman Susan Valencia scored from inside the box
following a pass from Rachel Woodland. With the score tied
the game looked to be going into overtime, when six minutes from
time senior Woodland powered in a strike from 20 yards out to give
the Clippers victory. This leaves the Clippers with a 3-3 record,
2-1 in the CACC.
The Clippers will open up Homecoming weekend with a 12pm game against Chestnut Hill College this Saturday.
