Bronxville, NY - Ollivierre pulls a hat trick to lead Clippers in win over the Lightning
The Clippers Women's Soccer team hosted the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning in the last match of the season. The Clippers squared off with the Lightning in the first half. The teams battled each other evenly across the pitch. The Clippers though had one advantage as they out shot the Lightning in the first half 10-5. With the teams keeping pace with one another the half would end scoreless.
The second half started with a bang as a cross ball from Iyesha
Ollivierre found Jullian Talbert for a tapped in goal. The
Clippers then scored again just four minutes later as a through
ball from Rhea Belgrave was sent to Iyesha Ollivierre for the one
touch finish goal to put the Clippers up 2-0. The Lightning
did eventually answer back to cut the Clipper lead in half.
The Clippers did not back down and continued to work as Rhea
Belgrave scored on a penalty kick to push the lead back up.
As the clock ticked down near the end of the game Susan Valencia
passed the ball to Iyesha Ollivierre who struck the ball from just
outside the box for her second goal of the game. Less than a
minute later Rachel Woodland chipped the ball to Ollivierre as she
scored her third goal of the game and sealing the Clipper win over
the Lightning.
The Clippers finish out the season 4-11 overall and 3-8 in the CACC. The Clippers say goodbye to seven seniors: Aileen Alvear, Danielle Davies, Rachel Woodland, Jullian Talbert, Sabrina Imbrogno, Natalie Greiner, and Kenisha Masters.
