Bronxville, NY - Clippers fall to Griffins in homecoming match-up
The Clippers women's soccer team opened up homecoming day 2009 with a CACC match-up with Chestnut Hill College.
The Clippers and the Griffins of Chestnut Hill battled for the first half of the game. The Griffins out shot the Clippers in the half but the Clippers were able to hold on and keep the Griffins at zero. The first half for the Clippers would be kept at zero as well and the battle would continue.
The second half saw the games offensive play change. The
first goal was scored by the Griffins took the lead in just moments
into the half. With the clock ticking away the Clippers
struggled to score. With a through ball from Susan Valencia,
Iyesha Olliveirre was able to get a shot off from 18 yards out and
put the ball in the back of the net to tie the game up.
Unfortunately the Clippers would not hold onto the lead as the
Griffins scored three minutes later and then once more to finish
the game out.
The Clippers move now to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the CACC as they gear up for a match with Nyack College on Tuesday, September 29, 2009.
