Brookhaven, NY - Valencia continues to score for Clippers but team falls to Dowling 3-1

The Concordia College Clippers headed out to Long Island to face off against Dowling College in a night time match-up.  Dowling controlled the game from the start scoring within four minutes of the game.  The Clippers would be on the defensive for the first half as they were only able to get three shots off.  At the end of the half the Clippers were down 2-0. 

The second half the Clippers started to gain momentum on the offensive side and with a scramble in the box Freshman Susan Valencia puts in her fourth goal of the season.  With a one goal game the Clippers continued to work hard to tie the game up but Dowling beat the Clippers in scoring again making the game 3-1. 

Jen Stefankiewicz led defensively for the Clippers with 7 saves as Susan Valencia scored the lone goal.

The Clippers will take on Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey this Saturday, September 19, 2009 for their next game.
