Wildcats Drop Clippers 4-1
Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College women's soccer team lost a non-conference match-up against the Wildcats of Wilmington University by a score of 4-1 today at Holtdorf Soccer Field in Bronxville, NY. The Clippers lose their second straight contest and fall to 3-2 overall. Wilmington University improves to 2-4-1 on the year.
The Wildcats wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, finding the back of the goal in the 3rd minute on a shot by Samantha Simpson.
Concordia answered in the 15th minute when junior Dani Davies (Croydon, England) netted her first goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1.
Wilmington would assume the lead three minutes later on a goal by Kirsten Stallone, her first of three goals on the day. Stallone connected on her second goal just before halftime to put the Wildcats up 3-1 at the break. Stallone would finish her scoring in the 58th minute to make the final score 4-1. Stallone would also assist on the first goal of the game.
Junior Aileen Alvear (Woodhaven, NY) minded the goal for Concordia, allowing 4 goals and finishing with 3 saves. Kendra Ness was in goal for the Wildcats and finished with 6 saves with 1 goal allowed.
The Clippers will open up East Coast Conference play on Wednesday, September 24th, as they host the Lions of Molloy College at Holtdorf Soccer Field. The action begins at 3:30 PM.
