Women's Soccer Blanked by Golden Falcons 4-0
Rutherford, NJ - The Concordia College women's soccer team was defeated by the Felician College Golden Falcons 4-0 in a non-conference game this past Saturday afternoon in Rutherford, NJ. The loss drops the Clippers record to 4-9-1 on the season. Felician College improves to 8-7 overall.
Junior Kenisha Masters (Queens, NY) and freshman Francesca Lombardo (Eastchester, NY) combined for 10 of the 14 shots the Clippers took for the game. Masters finished with a season high 6 shots and Lombardo had 4 shots. Junior Aileen Alvear (Woodhaven, NY) played 59 minutes in goal for the Clippers, finishing with 2 saves and allowing 2 goals. Sophomore Jen Stefankiewicz (Elkhorn, NE) saw some action in goal. Stefankiewicz collected 3 saves and had 2 second half goals allowed.
For the Golden Falcons, Jenna Krowl opened the scoring in the 12th minute and assisted on the second goal of the game by Lindsey Petry in the 18th minute. Petry would finish with 2 assists on the afternoon. Late in the second half, D.J. Jacobowitz added 2 goals to make the final score 4-0. Amanda Musarra and Shanneil Lorenzo each played a half in goal for the Golden Falcons, combining for 6 saves.
The Golden Falcons held a slight 17-14 advantage in shots for the game and took 3 corner kicks to the Clippers 2 corner kicks.
The Clippers return to the field on Wednesday, October 22nd, as they travel to Oakdale, NY to face the Golden Lions of Dowling College in an ECC contest. The game will begin at 6:00 PM.
