Women's Soccer Opens with 8-0 Loss

Wilmington, DE - The Concordia College opened the 2007 season with an 8-0 loss to the Wildcats of Wilmington College yesterday in Wilmington, DE. Freshman Jennifer Stefankiewicz (Elkhorn, NE) fired off three shots on goal and sophomores Ashley Schneider (Bradford, NH) and Sabrina Imbrogno (Yonkers, NY) each managed two shots. Junior Nathifa Newby (Brooklyn, NY) played all 90 minutes in goal for Concordia, allowing 8 goals and registering 9 saves.

For the Wildcats, Begum Malali scored 3 goals including the opening goal in the 10th minute of play. Danielle Niccoli and Chelsea Genco each added a goal and an assist for Wilmington, as they remain undefeated on the season at 4-0.

Concordia will return to action on Saturday, September 8th, as they travel to Bloomfield, NJ to take on the Deacons of Bloomfield College. The action gets underway at 12:00 PM.
