Women's Soccer Schedule Released

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College women's soccer team has released its 2008 schedule, as announced by the Athletics department today. The Clippers will play an 18-game schedule this fall, with 7 contests coming to Holtdorf Soccer Field on the campus of Concordia College.

Concordia will open the season on the road in a non-conference match-up against the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College on August 30^th. The Clippers will have their home opener on Sunday, September 7^th, as they take on the Pioneers of Columbia Union College. Five of the seven Clipper home contests will be played in the month of September, including non-conference games versus Dominican College and Wilmington University of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and East Coast Conference opponents Molloy College and the University of Bridgeport.

The Clippers open the month of October against defending ECC champion C.W. Post on the road on October 4^th and will also have road games against CACC opponents Georgian Court University and Felician College. Concordia will conclude the 2008 regular season against the Nyack College Warriors on November 1^st.

The Clippers finished the 2007 campaign with a 0-16 overall record and 0-10 in the ECC. The Clippers were led by Maura Torres (Queens, NY) who scored a team high 6 goals. Forward Nathifa Newby (Brooklyn, NY), who was voted on the East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Third Team All-Conference, finished the season with 2 assists and midfielder Rachel Woodland (Woking, England) had 2 goals.
