Spartans Top Clippers 4-0
Sparkill, NY - The Concordia College women's soccer team was defeated by the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College 4-0 yesterday in Sparkill, NY.
Samantha Lopez scored the opening goal of the game in the 5th minute of play. Kimberely Griffin was credited with the assist. Griffin also scored two goals, one just before the half and the second in the 68th minute.
Senior Maura Torres (Queens, NY) managed to get three shot in the game and leads the Clippers with 26 shots and 6 goals thus far. Junior Jullian Talbert (Brooklyn, NY) finished with two shots in the game as well.
Junior Mary Darbee (Patchogue, NY) played goal for Concordia, allowing all 4 goals and finishing with 7 saves. Jeannette Gibson recorded 4 saves for the Spartans.
With the loss, the Clippers fall to 0-13, 0-8 in the East Coast Conference. St. Thomas Aquinas improves to 4-13-1 overall and 2-7-1 in the East Coast Conference.
Concordia will travel to Nyack, NY on Thursday, October 25th to face the Warriors of Nyack College. The action will begin at 3:00 PM.
