Chargers Blank Clippers 8-0
West Haven, CT - Selina Moylan scored 3 goals, including the opening goal in the second minute, to lift the Chargers of the University of New Haven past the Clippers 8-0 yesterday in West Haven, CT. Holly Dawson finished the game with 2 assists. Kelli Veras, Anna Schueneman and Claire Siekaniec each scored a goal and added an assist for New Haven.
For the Clippers, junior forward Jullian Talbert (Brooklyn, NY) finished the game with 2 shots on goal. Junior Michelle Tapper (Queens, NY), senior Maura Torres (Queens, NY) and freshman Jennifer Stefankiewicz (Elkhorn, NE) each took one shot for Concordia.
Junior goalkeeper Mary Darbee (Patchogue, NY) played all 90:00 minutes for the Clippers, finishing with 10 saves, her second highest save total this season. Maryellen Shea registered 4 saves for the University of New Haven.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 0-10 overall and 0-5 in the East Coast Conference. New Haven improves to 9-3-2 overall and 6-0 in the East Coast Conference.
Concordia will host the Mavericks of Mercy College on Saturday,
October 13th at Holtdorf Soccer Field. The action gets underway at
12:00 PM.
