What are your goals as a student-athlete here at Concordia College?

Rachel - Do Better!!! But seriously, my goal is to help improve the team, as well as my own skills, while maintaining a high standard in my academic work.

Dani - To improve as an individual as well as contribute to the improvement of the team as a whole. Also to maintain a high academic standard.

What is the biggest difference between life in England and life in the United States?

Rachel - There aren't too many differences. The obvious one is the accent. I think people can understand mine now. Either that or they are very good at the "Smile and Nod". Also, you guys don't drink tea!!!

Dani - You lot talk and spell funny! Rachel and I have mastered the "Smile and Nod" technique when we don't understand.

What is the biggest difference on the soccer field in England and in the United States?

Rachel - For a start, it's a football pitch. But otherwise, there are a few minor differences in the rules, especially regarding substitutions.

Dani - There are differences in the rules and differences tactically. The biggest difference is the wording, such as, soccer is football, cleats are boots and jerseys are kits.

What were your thoughts on the recent World Cup this past summer?

Rachel - It showed that some people will do anything to win (C Ronaldo). But, there was some amazing play and some fantastic goals and you better watch out for England nex ttime (though I always say that).

Dani - Some players are not as good as they think they are (C. Ronaldo)!!! Who else can get a whole country to hate them with just a wink. He's different to say the least.

Do you think that being a student-athlete here at Concordia is helpful to you or a hinder to you?

Rachel - Being an athlete as well as a student is definitely a benefit, as you are given an immediate opportunity to meet new people and make friends. It also gives you responsibilities and an opportunity to release any stress thats built up from general college life and lessons

Dani - I find it helps as it gives me an escape from academic stresses.
