Head Women's Basketball Coach

His most recent coaching experience came at FDU-Madison, Madison, New Jersey. He was the assistant coach for the women’s basketball team for the 2009-2010 Season. Prior to FDU his coaching experience came at Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, New York. He was the assistant coach for the women’s basketball team from 2006-2009. DeSio was the head recruiting and retention coordinator for the program. The program improved during that period from 2-75 to making the conference playoffs for the first time in 8 years. During his tenure at New York City College of Technology for the 2004-2006 his recruiting experience also allowed that team to improve and become the South Division Runner-up.
DeSio also has collegiate experience as the head men’s junior varsity coach at Fordham University from 1996-2000. At Fordham he worked alongside Bob Hill, who is the former coach of the Seattle Super Sonics, the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs. DeSio was the recruiting liaison between the varsity team and junior college and prep school students,
DeSio has served as the girl’s junior varsity coach at Curtis High School, going undefeated on Staten Island and winning three championships from 2001-2003. DeSio also possesses vast experience at the AAU level. In 1995 he became the head coach of the Queens Lady Magic program. In 1997, DeSio coached the first New York City Parks and Recreation 14 and under team, winning the City Championship. He has also participated in the Nike and the Canadian/American Coaches Clinics.
DeSio is a 1973 graduate of the New York Police Academy. He is a retired police officer after 25 years of service. In 2004, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Human Services from SUNY-Empire State College. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Sports Psychology from Capella University. He and his wife Marcella reside in Staten Island, New York.

Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

A graduate of Concordia College New York herself, Jenifer was the Assistant Coach at Borough Manhattan Community College from 1999-2004. During her years at BMCC, her team went to the NJCAA tournament twice and many of the players moved onto Division I and II college where they received Academic and Athletic Scholarships.
In addition to coaching at BMCC, Jenifer was also a student-athlete for the school from 1995-1997 and was named the CUNY Student-Athlete of the Year 1997 and an Academic All-American while also earning the Arthur Asche Award. Jenifer then transferre to Concordia College New York to complete her bachelor's degree and continue her basketball career. In her first year at Concordia, the team went to the post season conference playoffs for the first time in school history. In 1999 she received the Christus Victor Award for being a student-athlete and contributor to the community.
Jenifer holds
a MS in Accounting from Long Islan University-Brooklyn, a BS in
Business Education from Concordia College New York and an AAS in
Accounting from BMCC. Jenifer has been working at Concordia
Colelge New York for the past 10 years as the Director of
International Admission and Associate Director of Admission.
She is excited to re-join the women's basketball team in a coaching
position and looks forward to continuing her successful career with
Concordia on the court.
