Argelix Gil and Katie Nikosey Pick Up Weekly Honors from CACC
The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) named their first weekly honors today for basketball. Argelix Gil and Katie Nikosey picked up the honors for the Clippers.
Argelix Gil, a sophomore from Brooklyn, NY, earned the CACC's first
Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending November
14th. Gil posted 24 points in the Clippers season opener with
Merrimack at the Bentley Tip-Off Classic this past Friday.
The next day Gil registered 22 points and 10 rebounds with 4
assists to the lead the Clippers to their first win of the
season over Bentley University. Gil averaged 23 points, 7
boards, 3 assists and 2.5 steals for the week.
On the women's side of the court, Katie Nikosey, a freshman from Staten Island, NY, earned the first CACC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week. Nikosey averaged 9.5 points and 2.5 rebounds a game for her first two collegiate games. In Nikosey's debut, she shot 4-8 from behind the line en route to 16 points and 4 rebounds against Southern New Hampshire.
The Clippers Women's Basketball team will take to the road on Wednesday at East Stroudsburg University before opening their home season with the NYIT Bears on Saturday, November 20th at 1:00pm. The Men's Basketball team heads to St. Michael's on Saturday for a 2:00pm game before heading to the College of St. Rose on Sunday for a 2:00pm match-up.
