The Clippers headed North to face off against the Post University Eagles. With the Clippers taking the first meeting at home they needed to start off with a bang to take the road game. Shari Cordero gave them a good start tot he game with a made layup. The Clippers then settled in for the battle with the Eagles as the game went back and forth for awhile. Post took the lead with less than nine minutes left in the first half and kept the Clippers at bay. With three ties and seven lead changes the Clippers were trailing 27-31 to the Eagles.
The second half proved to be another battle as the Clippers
attempted to get back into the game. A good jumper from Dana
Rommel (18 points) move the Clippers back within one. With
two good free throws from Shari Cordero (9 points, 11 rebounds) the
Clippers took the lead once again. The Eagles came right back
and battled with the Clippers. Each team took small leads
over the next couple of minutes but never breaking away. The
Clippers saw the Eagles take the break away first and left them
behind. The Clippers fell 65-55.
Along with Rommel and Cordero posting big numbers Shelley Monahan added 10 points and Brittany Binnie tossed up 8 points with 11 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Clippers will head to Wilmington University this Saturday for a 1:00pm game with the Wildcats.
