Springfield, MA - Rommel and Eggink score big as Clippers drop to UMass Lowell
The Clippers headed to the American International College Classic today for one of the two games in the classic. Their first challenge would be the University of Massachusetts Lowell Riverhawks.
As the first half started the Clippers scored first with a
three-pointer from Gianna Zonghetti. With the Riverhawks
responding back, the game's battle begun. The Clippers
playing tough with Dana Rommel leading the charge but the
Riverhawks stole control of the game in the first half. Even
though the Clippers shot 48% from the field, matching the
Riverhawks percentage, the Riverhawks held a 14 point lead at the
end of the half 44-30 over the Clippers.
The Clippers headed into the second half of the game struggling
with their shots as they were unable to control the tempo and the
Riverhawks took the game, 84-45.
Dana Rommel led the Clippers with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Amanda Eggink followed right behind with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
The Clippers will play host American International College tomorrow at 1:30pm.
