Clippers picked for 7th in North Division in the CACC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll
NEW HAVEN, CT (October 30, 2009) - The Concordia College Clippers women's basketball team was picked 7th in the North Division in the CACC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll. The Clippers finished their 2008-2009 season with a 4-23 overall record and a 2-16 ECC record.
The Clippers, who are entering into the CACC for their first season, also welcome in a new coach. Monge Codio returns to Concordia College to coach the Women's Basketball team. Codio, entering his fifth season with the Clippers, looks to take the squad to new levels as all but one starter is returning for the Clippers.
Bloomfield College and Holy Family University have been chosen to win their respective divisions according to the 2009-10 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball preseason poll. The voting was very close this year, as conducted by the 14 CACC head coaches. The Lady Deacons were picked to win the North Division, while the Tigers were selected to win the South Division.
The season kicks off on Nov. 15 with eight teams in action, including North Division favorite Bloomfield visiting The College of Saint Rose and Holy Family traveling to Bentley College. The conference season starts on Nov. 18 when Philadelphia travels to Chestnut Hill. Five CACC games are slated for Tuesday, Dec. 8, including Concordia's first conference game, at home against Felician.
