Clippers Fall to Purple Knights 74-56
Bridgeport, CT - The Concordia College women's basketball team lost their final East Coast Conference game to the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport yesterday 74-56 at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium in Bridgeport, CT.
Concordia was led by junior Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY), who posted 13 points and 4 rebounds. Sophomore Bonnie DeFina (Maspeth, NY) added 11 points and junior Jocelyn Martin (Nesconset, NY) chipped in 8 points. Sophomores Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) and Kasey Grisanti (Bronx, NY) each pulled down 6 rebounds while scoring 4 points and 3 points, respectively.
The Purple Knights were led by Julia Colley, who scored a game high 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Shannon Malone had a monster game with 17 points, a game high 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Malone also went over the 1,000 point mark for her career at the University of Bridgeport. Sidney Parsons finished with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists while Siobhan Moore scored 10 points and had 6 rebounds.
The Clippers end the 2008-2009 women's basketball season with an overall record of 4-23 and finishing 2-16 in the East Coast Conference. Bridgeport heads into the ECC Women's Basketball Tournament as the #4 seed with an 12-15 overall record and 11-7 in conference action.
