Women's Basketball Falls to Adelphi 100-50

Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team lost their final home East Coast Conference match-up to the Panthers of Adelphi University 100-50 last night at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. The loss drops the Clippers to 4-22 overall and 2-15 in the East Coast Conference. Adelphi improves to 13-13 on the year and 10-7 in conference play.

Concordia was led by junior Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY), who finished with a team high 17 points and 7 rebounds. Freshman Kayla Koch (Kings Park, NY) finished with 8 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Juniors Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) and Jocelyn Martin (Nesconset, NY) chipped in 6 points apiece for the Clippers.

For Adelphi, Ashley Caiafa had a game high 19 points and 4 rebounds, while Serita Lee posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Lisa Manetta added 15 points and 4 assists, while Jasmine Travers and Hunter Marek scored 12 points and 10 points, respectively.

The Clippers will conclude the 2008-2009 women's basketball season on Saturday, February 28th, as they travel to Bridgeport, CT to face the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport. Earlier this season, Bridgeport defeated the Clippers 75-49 at the Meyer Athletic Center. Koch led Concordia with 14 points in the game. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
