Women's Basketball Falls to Knights 84-40
Flushing, NY - The Concordia College women's basketball team lost to the Knights of Queens College 84-40 last night in an East Coast Conference match-up at Fitzgerald Gymnasium in Flushing, NY. The loss drops the Clippers to 3-20 on the year and 1-13 in the East Coast Conference. The Knights improve to 18-5 overall and 12-2 in the East Coast Conference.
Junior Dana Rommel (Staten Island, NY) scored a team high 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds for the Clippers. Freshman Kayla Koch (Kings Park, NY) continues her impressive rookie campaign with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Sophomore Bonnie DeFina (Maspeth, NY) added 6 points, while sophomore Amanda Eggink (Red Hook, NY) and junior Gina Amato (West Haven, CT) chipped in 4 points and 3 points, respectively.
For the Knights, Amanda Bartlett scored a game high 18 points and had 7 assists. Jennifer DiChiara finished with a double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Kara Otterbine and Janine Maser added 9 points apiece, while Jennifer Robbins and Christine Harnischfeger chipped in 8 points each. Otterbine also finished with 12 rebounds for the Knights.
The Clippers will return to action on Wednesday, February 18th, as they host the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College in an ECC showdown at the Meyer Athletic Center. The Spartans beat the Clippers 82-59 back on January 17th in Sparkill, NY. Junior Brittany Binnie (Middletown, NY) scored a team high 16 points in that contest. The game is set to begin at 5:00 PM.
